The recent white paper by Michael Hamblin, PhD and Lew Lim, Vielight Inc. CEO, discusses the potential value of near infrared light stimulation using continuous 810nm photobiomodulation (PBM) along with 633nm intranasal stimulation. There is compelling evidence in the scientific literature supporting the therapeutic value of light stimulation to promote tissue level healing and ongoing neuroprotection. Quietmind Foundation has been studying the clinical value of photobiomodulation using Vielight and other PBM devices over the past 15 years and we now strongly advocate its inclusion along with central and peripheral biofeedback training in the treatment of neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. The evidence presented in this paper lends support for using PBM as a treatment for COVID-19 and other localized and systemic infections.
QMF has already developed a research protocol and is seeking support to conduct studies that will provide evidence for the efficacy of PBM as a noninvasive treatment to boost immune response to COVID-19. We have been given a challenge grant that will match tax deductible donations up to $12,000 toward our goal of $45,000. We are providing the X-plus, when they become available, with a 10% discount and no cost technical and clinical support.
