We are currently conducting two clinical trials, both addressing the symptoms of early-stage dementia.
Trial #1 is a placebo-controlled study of 1072nm infrared (IR) stimulation involving 28 consecutive days of 15min. light stimulation sessions. Subjects will also be tested over a 2-day period before and after the 28 sessions of IR stimulation.
Trial #2 involves the use of EEG biofeedback training to reduce the symptoms of dementia. Subjects will participate in 40 sessions of biofeedback training conducted twice weekly with quantitative EEGs (QEEG) and neuropsychological testing conducted before and after the block of 40 training sessions.
What is a clinical trial?
A clinical trial is research using human volunteers to answer a specific health question. For example: "Does this new treatment provide me with improved mood and cognitive functioning?"
Why participate in a trial?
For eligible participants, a clinical trial can provide access to new treatments before they are commercially available.
Am I a candidate?
Each clinical trial listed here includes specific inclusion criteria (factors that allow someone to participate) and exclusion criteria (factors that disallow someone from participating). Interested individuals should carefully review these basic requirements before contacting the study coordinator about participation.
