Jon Frederick, Ph.D., is QuietMind Foundation’s Director of Clinical
Research. He earned his doctorate in psychology in Joel Lubar’s lab at the University
of Tennessee, studying the
effects of audiovisual stimulation (“light and sound machines”) on the EEG.
He received his Masters degree in Neuroscience from the University
of Michigan, where he
specialized in psychopharmacology. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at
the University of Texas
Health Sciences Center-Houston and the University
of Minnesota,
researching topics from structural MRI in autism and spina bifida to evoked
potentials in ADHD and substance abuse. He has authored or co-authored 34
scientific publications and conference presentations. In addition to
coordinating our study of the efficacy of neurofeedback for dementia, he
teaches biopsychology and research methods online for the University
