Our approach is based on previous research regarding the treatment of addictive disorders using brainwave
biofeedback, relaxation training and guided imagery techniques. The focus is on remediating the patterns of
activation and arousal in the brain that are associated with craving, seeking and using drugs, alcohol, food, sex,
gambling, etc. to manage over/under arousal. Treatment of addictions is always conducted in the context of a
supportive psychotherapeutic relationship and is often augmented with 12-step oriented activities including
participation in recovery-oriented fellowship programs, e.g., AA, NA, OA, SLAA and Rational Recovery.
